"Hi! My name is Judy Chen and I will be an incoming college freshman this fall. I will be attending Cal State University of East Bay where I will be majoring in Criminal Justice. I was a shy sixth grader in Mr. Valdez's class back in 2008. Mr. Valdez's caring, bright, and funny personality made me break out of my shell and encouraged me to work hard in everything I do. I've encountered many wonderful opportunities at Nightingale and gained a lot of insightful understanding on what it takes to become a successful student. I graduated from Nightingale in 2011 and am proud to be a Nightingale alumni. Feel free to ask me any questions relating to middle school, high school, or even college life!"
Judy has agreed to support our class this year by sharing her college experiences at Cal State University of East Bay. Here is a short bio about her which she wrote, and I'm going to make a special section for her on the blog called, "ask Judy"

Discuss the questions with your group members first, and then respond on the blog. Make sure you use your real name. No anonymous posters are allowed! Attention all students, there is a "check point" on the power my learning website for both 6th and 7th graders!!! Since I brought this to everyone's attention during class, I expect it done as soon as possible. I will give everyone until this Wednesday Sept. 3 to have it done. After that date, you will start to lose points, and eventually get a zero. For the maximum amount of points, make sure, and type out all your steps. Again, I'm after school everyday except Tuesday, so there is no excuse to not "get er' done!"
Attention all 7th graders! There is a "check point" on the www.powermylearning.org website. This "check point" will count towards your grade. Anyone who needs a computer, I have been staying after-school everyday excepts Tuesday. You are all welcome to use my computers. Now, "Get er' done!" :)
Make sure we check the powermylearning.org website. I have added a "check point" for you to do that will count towards your grade. If you have any problems logging onto powermylearning, I stay after school everyday except Tuesday. Make sure and get it done!
Hello students and parents. The CHECK YOUR GRADE tab is now working under the "MORE" tab. As of right now, you have to use the drop down menu and choose which period. If you have me for different periods you have to log in separately for each period. I will work on seeing if I can fix this issue so that you can see both periods with one log in.
To log in, its very easy. Choose the period, then type in your last name and the password that you gave me in class. Then click "submit". Be sure to try it out this week, so both students and parents can always keep track of your grades. Remember under normal conditions, I will not be accepting late work unless there is a valid computer issue. See you all tomorrow! Welcome students and parents to the Place 2B with Mr. V. Congratulations on surviving the first week of school! You guys are awesome. Although, I haven't learned many of your names yet, please give me at least 2 weeks and I should be able to memorize your name. A couple reminders for this coming week. Make sure you have signed up for powermylearning with the codes I gave you in class, and I expect you to have all your supplies this week. The separate spiral notebooks are the most important. (you need one per subject). My homeroom students, make sure you have turned in your emergency cards. That's about it for now. I added a few links to the home page. Be sure to check back often. See you Monday!
